Chiropractor Jefferson Park, Dr. Peter MeyerMeet Dr. Peter Meyer

As an undergrad majoring in biology at Illinois Wesleyan University, Dr. Pete loved how the human body works. As he was getting ready to graduate and considering getting a master’s, his uncle brought him to the National College of Chiropractic (now called National University of Health Sciences).

Discovering an Interest in Natural Healing

The dean of academics said, “If you’re here because you wanted to go to medical school and just really couldn’t get in, this is not the place for you. We’re here because you’re interested in true healing.” Dr. Pete had never heard those words before and thought, “I’m ready. Let’s go. This is what I want to do.” To this day, there’s nothing else he would rather do.

Education and Memberships

In addition to earning his Doctor of Chiropractic from the National College of Chiropractic, Dr. Pete earned his BA in biology from Illinois Wesleyan University. He is also a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® (CCSP®). He also has a degree in sports injuries, and took an additional 200 hours of sports education. Additionally, Dr. Pete has postgraduate training in the following:

  • Acupuncture
  • Dealing with motor vehicle accidents

Dr. Pete is also a Cox Certified physician for both the cervical and lumbar spines.

“I like the fact that we have required continuing education hours as I love learning.” Dr. Pete loves updating his skills and learning what’s new in the field of chiropractic.

He also stays active professionally as a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Illinois Chiropractic Society.
